Giving Back

Our Charity
Partners

At New Forest Country Store, we want to be able to give back, as much as we're able. From the very beginning, we have made a commitment that as we grow, so does our support for others.

We have carefully chosen two charity partners that reflect our values, our roots, and our passion for making a real difference — one close to home, one further afield, but both doing truly remarkable work.

Namuwongo Community Foundation

400 children in free education

In the Namuwongo slum of Kampala, Uganda, poverty, injustice and disease are daily realities. For the children and women living there, hope can feel out of reach — unless someone steps in. That's exactly what the Namuwongo Community Foundation does.

NCF is a Ugandan NGO run by Ugandans, for Ugandans. At its heart is a simple but powerful belief: education changes everything. NCF provides free schooling to 400 children, runs a primary school, secondary school, feeding programme and medical centre, and offers vocational training to empower vulnerable women with craft, micro-business and life skills. Every penny raised goes directly to the project — no admin fees, no overheads.

"Orphaned young, she was sponsored through her education by NCF itself and has since earned a degree, an MBA and a law qualification. She now leads the very organisation that gave her a future."

Leading NCF is Christine Kasapuli — living proof of NCF's founding principle: change a life, change lives. With over 25 years of history and a team of more than 50 staff, NCF has helped students rise to become engineers, doctors, lawyers, teachers and nurses.

New Forest Country Store is proud to partner with Friends of NCF UK, making an ongoing contribution to this vital work. Our values are aligned and we share a passion to see lives transformed.

Closer to home

Fortune College

Founded in 1976 and rooted in the New Forest, Fortune College is one of a handful of colleges in the world that teaches exclusively through horses. For young people aged 16 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), it offers something truly rare — an education built around them.

Students who find traditional classrooms overwhelming come to Fortune College and discover that learning looks completely different there. Surrounded by nature and working alongside horses every day, they are encouraged, engaged and empowered to reach their full potential. The therapeutic power of the human-horse relationship sits at the heart of everything the College does.

Fortune College has grown from two acres of land granted at Avon Tyrrell in 1977 into a thriving two-site operation, officially opened by The Princess Royal in 1980, who remains a welcomed guest to this day. Over the decades, the College has been supported by remarkable people including Olympic eventer Jane Holderness-Roddam, Carl Hester, William Fox-Pitt, Frankie Dettori and current Patron, actor Martin Clunes.

It is a place where horses don't just teach riding — they teach life.

New Forest Country Store is proud to support Fortune College through sponsorship, and through an ongoing contribution to their vital work in our community.
